The Bridal Journey

The Bridal Journey

Embarking on the couture journey can be daunting and exciting in equal measures.
Our bride Gizem recounts her experience with Sant Elia in such a positive light we are sharing it below, accompanied by beautiful photos taken by Gizem's talented sisters, documenting the couture process.
"Steph, thank you so so for actually taking your time with me, getting to know me and giving me so much ease and comfort. I wasn’t ever worried or stressed about my dress at all. Thank you for encouraging me to just be me with it and make decisions based on me and not the societal norm."
Couture Toile
Sant Elia's bridal artisans begin with a toile, which is the framework of a couture look. During this appointment we check initial fit and silhouette of intended bridal gown.
Couture fitting
Throughout the fitting process, we will discuss lace or beading options and fabrication application techniques. It is important for us to have the approval of our bride's when style decisions are being made. For instance, lace will be pinned in place prior to a fitting with changes made during a fitting with our bride. Once placement is approved, sewing will commence.
Couture fitting
Once the bridal vision starts to take shape, we will discuss additions such as sleeves or veils. This allows the bride to have a more cohesive idea of the completed look when making these decisions.

Couture final fitting
Final fittings are integral to the process. We check various details such as the hem with bridal shoes by completing a walk-through. If fit changes are required at any point during the process, they are completed as we create the bridal gown. However, it is during the final fitting that it is most important as the next time our bride comes into the studio it will be their last.
Couture pick up appointment
Collecting the completed bridal look. We always ask our brides for a final try on to triple check the gown and any additions fit perfectly. Following this, our bridal artisans prepare the gown and veil for transportation in a branded garment bag together with instructions for best care once home.
If you would like to begin your bridal journey with Sant Elia, we would love to welcome you into the studio for a design consultation.
